So This Is Why I Stopped Eating "Regular" Food!

I went to a Home Party for a popular kitchen gadget company last night and I decided to live a little and just eat what was being prepared instead of eating at home and refraining as usual. The demonstration dishes were a fake lasagna dish made with tortillas, canned sauce, etc. and a dessert pizza; which used a sugar cookie dough crust, whipped topping with cream cheese, pineapples, bananas, and strawberry ice cream topping. I only had a little slice of the dessert and a small serving of the main dish. I didn't even eat all the dessert. I felt like I had just poured a bag of sugar down my throat afterwords and today? Today I feel awful! OK part of it is the chair I sat in, and part of it is the weather changing but still- I feel like a giant slug, moving through freshly poured cement! I don't think I will be tempted to "cheat" again anytime soon, if ever. I don't like feeling this way!

On a diffrent note, I found this messing around online earlier today.
If you insert Jesus Christ where she says inside it is pretty right on. The direction our nation has taken is certainly scary, and if we stay on this course our future looks pretty bleak. If you don't regularly pray for our nation and our youth, I hope you will consider changing that. I know I will.
Yet still I praise God, for He is Worthy and He is our Hope and Help.

Bumping

and bumping, one says to herself, " you had to ask".

My children have been great at nudging me, maybe a little too good. No sitting on ones laurels now!
So I have been bumped, now what to write?

I have discovered Facebook, and should have known when the first person warned me not to get addicted, but I'm slow. By the time the second person warned me I was well on my way down addiction highway. Of course I can stop anytime I want to. Oh hang on it's been half an hour since I checked---um ya well---but---Facebook really is interesting, I think over half the attraction is figuring out how everything works. I am so nosey, I see something on someone's profile and I need to know how they did that, or where they found that. Some people think I am smart because I figure out how to use functions on cell phones et al but really it's just that I am just curious.
That's it for now. Thanks for the bumps J & D :P
Update on GI Diet progress coming soon!

Overdoing

I am sorry for my absence the last few days. I have been in quite a bit of pain from pushing myself too far.
I gave my dogs a much needed bath and in doing so I made my back quite angry with me. It is slowly getting better; and hopefully I will remember this and will behave myself from now on! I am so bad at gaging my limitations it would be funny if it didn't cause me so much pain. So pray for me please that I will get, rent or otherwise have wisdom in my ability to gage my limitations.

I will be having my left carpal tunnel surgery this afternoon. I report to the surgery center at noon and will be the first one today; the MD had meetings all morning. I will be glad to have it done and be able to get on the with other things. I do believe I may need to have my neck done next as I am still having some issues with it; especially driving. We will see what happens after this surgery. Onward and upward!

I went to my family MD yesterday and he is quite pleased with my weight loss to date; at 9 weeks I have lost 28 pounds. A drop in the bucket compared to what I need to lose but great progress for sure. Overall I am still feeling better, recent back pain notwithstanding. The reason that happened is because I have so much more energy and not a brain in my head to go with it!
Thanks for the support and prayers; and thank God for His faithfulness in this and all things.

Week Six

I am in the 6th week on the Glycemic Index Diet and things are going well. 26 lbs lost so far and my energy level has doubled and pain has continued to get better. Pain level is down about 65 percent.
Thank the Lord God Almighty for bringing me to this place! He is good, all the time He is good.

Amazing cure

for writer's block! I wish; cause that is why I have been absent for awhile. I just can't seem to get anything to flow from these fingertips!

I am still healing well; I can now lift a gallon of milk with my right hand and it doesn't hurt any more on than it does to lift it with my left. I am so looking forward to having the left one done!

I am still managing the new diet well. It has been three weeks since I got the news that I am hypoglycemic (pre-diabetic) and in a couple of days it will have been as long that I have been on the diet. I am still feeling better, though I had a bout with a virus a week or so ago and felt pretty yucky a couple of days.

My biggest struggle right now is trying not to do too much. I need to have little notes stuck all over the house that say you can really only do half of what you think you can. This was a rule I learned in Fibromyalgia Self help course several years ago. Although maybe learned is a misstatement, more like was told and wrote down.
Guess I'll make that it for now. Back soon, I hope.

GI Diet update

Well it has been just over a week since I went to the MD and he told me I am severely hypoglycemic and put me on the GI Diet. Here is a video; try not to judge me too harshly; I am not photogenic!
My energy level has increased about 40 percent and my pain level has decreased about 50 percent!

Look Ma Both Hands!

Hallelujah! I can use both my hands to type now. It hurts a little but I can do it!! Praise the LORD!

I have been talking to someone through email who goes to my church whom I have never met but know through other people that she is into natural foods, herbs and the like so I contacted her when my MD put me on this new eating plan. She has been a wonderful source of information and I look forward to comparing notes with my MD about some of the things she has said. I am so grateful for her help; even though she has never laid eyes on me, she is doing research on my behalf, preparing remedies and answering endless questions. I just want to go on record as saying I really appreciate this person I will call Honey. Thank You God for Honey and all You are doing for me through her.

Light at the end...

Finally; some answers!
I went to the neurologist on Wednesday( yesterday) morning and was told I have severe carpal tunnel syndrome in both arms and need surgery asap. This explains the symptoms the other tests did not and the MD feels it is the worst of my the cluster of neurological problems I am having. Therefore I will be having the right arm done on the 20th and the left arm done about a month later; the exact timing depends of my recovery from the first one. Once the arms are done we will address the issues with my neck.
Wednesday afternoon I went to see my family MD for a follow-up after my Glucose Tolerance Test. Good news is I am not diabetic; however, I am hypoglycemic which is also referred to as pre-diabetes and serious business. My MD put me on a Glycemic Index Diet. He gave me a book title to look for and I will plug this despite the fact that I am not getting paid because I think this may be the one diet I can get behind. It is The GI Diet by Rick Gallop.Check it out; I think it would be great for anyone to do and it is especially important for people with health issues such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, etc. The tough thing is that groceries will end up costing more and on a fixed income this will be an adjustment. However, in the long run it will be well worth it; of this I have no doubt. So pray for me you all, I really need it; my weight loss goal is YIKES 174 (or more)pounds.

This blog is a way for me to work on the discipline of writing, and to voice my thoughts on my life and experiences on my journey to better health; mentally, physically and spiritually
